c. Newer kernels for Debian stable releases are distributed via backports.org. Ask me about <bpo> to add backports.org to your sources.list correctly and add the debian-backports-keyring package. You can then "aptitude -t lenny-backports install linux-image-`uname -r | sed 's,.*-,,'`" (i.e. linux-image-686, linux-image-amd64).
